At the start of the Heresy, the Great Crusade was still in progress. Yes, it was winding down, but there were still huge numbers of Expeditionary Fleets, many of which were heavily engaged bringing human cultures to Compliance or exterminating xenos breeds. The Consuls could be in such a situation or find themselves having to fight a battle on two fronts due to an enemy Imperial fleet translating into the system.

As an avid reader/listener of Horus Heresy novels, the Black Books and a big RPG geek, I’m really looking forward to the upcoming Horus Heresy RPG by Cubicle 7. With this in mind, I’ve put together the following list of questions to help you create the background for your Horus Heresy Space Marine character.

Whether you want to get prepared before the RPG is released, just want to create some background for your miniatures or are writing some Horus Heresy fiction of your own, this article is for you.

I’ve been really enjoying this game since its Android beta. My ranking normally hovers around the 3000 mark and while I have a couple of 12-win event runs under my belt, I don’t claim to be an expert player – particularly in terms of deck optimisation. This guide is therefore aimed at people who are perhaps new to the game or turn-based collectible card games in general.

I bought The First Heretic (TFH) at Games Day and read it on the coach back. It's a strong performance and I'd rate it as one of the best of the Horus Heresy books to date. In places I would rate it as equal to or above Horus Rising. In his blog, Mr ABD makes a reference to the difficulty of topping Dan Abnett's introduction of Horus. In my opinion, the confrontation between Lorgar, Gulliman and the Emperor is easily on a par, possibly exceeding it for emotional impact.
